The Pottery Café - your creativity

About us

Our Story

From idea to creative gathering place

The story of The Pottery Café began with a simple but inspiring idea. Many customers at Gallery Værnhøj had long been asking for the opportunity to paint on the ceramics that Dorthe and Margon made themselves.

In June 2023, we opened the doors to the first of our pottery cafés in Esbjerg at Kongensgade 115. What started as a pop-up shop with small 2-person and 4-person tables quickly developed into a passion for creating a place where people could paint ceramics and express themselves creatively.

After just a few months, demand grew and the pottery café Esbjerg moved to new and larger premises at Kongensgade 94, which gave us the opportunity to meet even more people and create an even more inspiring experience.

With a passion for ceramics and the desire to share the creative experience with even more people, we expanded on March 1, 2024 and opened a new pottery café in Randers. The Pottery Café Randers found its location in Randers city center near the Town Hall, and has become part of the city’s charming retail life, where both children and adults can express their creativity in cozy surroundings.

Partnerships

Together we create something special

At the pottery café, we focus on offering something special that you won’t find on the shelves in local grocery stores. We are proud to collaborate with Lowin ApS, Billund Bakery, Møns Brewery, Esbjerg Brewery, Coffee Perfect and Box The Original who deliver unique specialties that make your experience in the café even more unique and inspiring. We believe that it’s the small, lovely details that make a big difference, and we’re delighted to be able to present these specialties to our guests.

In our two pottery cafés, we also have the pleasure of collaborating with Gallery Værnhøj, where you can experience a selection of artistic works, including ceramics, paintings and posters. The works create an inspiring atmosphere in the café and give our guests the opportunity to be inspired by the art while they create their own masterpieces.
